Timeline

When Richard Pierson was just 16 years old, he traded in his F150 pickup truck to purchase his first backhoe. As a young man, he set out to make a living by working for himself.

1975

Richard E. Pierson Construction Co., Inc was Incorporated September 1980 in the State of New Jersey.

1980

Richard E. Pierson Construction Co., Inc signed its first Union Contract.

1982

The company landed its first NJ DOT project as a joint venture on Rt 295, opening the door for the continued progression and achievement this company will later experience.

1985

The company expanded its work into the State of Delaware and Pennsylvania.

1986

As growth continued, the success of the company leads to the purchase of the first main office located in Williamstown, NJ. Currently still operational today and known as the Cecil Yard.

1989

The first barges were purchased, and Pierson entered the market of Marine Work.

1998

Pierson was awarded its first Design Build project.

1999

Pierson grew steadily, and in 2001 acquired the facility in Pilesgrove, NJ, which still serves as our company headquarters today.

2001

By the end of fiscal year 2008, Pierson performed over $200 million in revenue.

2008

Pierson put down permanent roots in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, acquiring a PA Regional Office, Shop and Yard.

2019

Today Pierson employs 400+ employees, working in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland, offering diversified services in all areas of heavy, highway and marine construction.
