Demo of the Inbound and Outbound Bridges.
Project Challenge
The challenge in this project was having to take down a bridge over the Anacostia River without having any debris fall into the water, keep marine traffic flowing underneath all while disassembling a bridge that was in very poor condition.
Project Solution
The solution to this problem was installing a barge system underneath to catch the debris and working in sections removing the concrete, then the steel structure. Because of the integrity of the steel structure, we had to work closely with a local engineer on following a specific demo plan to take down sections at a time safely and in a timely manner.
